Biography
Lamond worked for many years on the Caledonian Railway. He delveloped a talent for portrait painting at which he made an early reputation. He later turned to landscape, enjoying particularly, working horses in woodland with effective portrayal of dappled sunshine through trees. Also coastal scenes, often with children fishing off the rocks. Largely self-taught this led to a direct, personal style with fine sense of colour and composition. Lived most of his life in Tayport, Fife and Dundee. Exhibited RA, RSA and GI.
