CUMMING, William Skeoch (1864-1929)
Biography
Born Edinburgh. Watercolour painter of mainly portraits and military subjects, also a designer of tapestries. Studied Edinburgh School of Art and RSA School. Served in Boer War, sketching incidents of the campaign in watercolour as well as painting portraits. Lived at 28 Queen Street before moving to Buckingham Terrace. Works include those of Scottish Military History including the Afghanistan campaign and portraits. Represented in thin SNPG by two portraits, both of the surgeon Thomas Keith.
