Biography
From his youth he was a keen naturalist and falconer, becoming friends with J.G. Millais and A. Thorburn. He studied and worked in London before moving to live at Camberley. Although primarily a painter and illustrator of birds – he illustrated Bannerman’s ‘Birds of the British Isles’ – more rarely he used animals as his subjects. He wrote and illustrated 'Memoirs of an Artist Naturalist’. He exhibited 7 works at the R.A.
