LANDSEER, Sir Edwin Henry, RA (1802-1873)

Biography

Landseer was primarily a painter of animal subjects and he made the majority of his prints in his early career. The bulk of prints of his work which we see today were produced by professional engravers and lithographers, not least by his father J.Landseer and his brother T.Landseer. Dogs and deer were among his favoured subjects.
