TAYLOR, Ernest Archibald 1874-1951
Biography
Born Greenock. Painter in oil and landscape. Married Jessie King.Between 1911 and 1914 lived in Paris and exhibited at the Paris Salon as well as running a small school of painting known as the Shieling atelier.
Towards the end of his life his work became stronger and less delicate, with black charcoal outlines and forceful colour, closer to the colourists than the symbolists.
Exhibited at the RSA, RSW and GI.
