Biography

Born in 1967, Derek Robertson works from his studio in his native Fife and, since graduating from Art College in Dundee in 1989, has established a name as one of the country’s foremost wildlife and landscape artists. He exhibits around the world and his paintings are held in collections in more than 40 countries including those of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh and The Scotland Office as well as many corporations, museums and universities.

Derek has illustrated numerous books and articles including two books about his own paintings. He is well known for his appearances on television programmes, a number of which he has written and presented himself. Derek has recently completed illustrations for new books by the celebrated wildlife and environmental writer, Sir John Lister-Kaye, entitled “Song of the Rolling Earth” and “Nature’s Child”: published by Time Warner.
