Biography
Born in Torquay.Landscape painter in oil, watercolour and tempera, mostly watercolour. A qualified barrister, he only began painting full-time in 1919.
Deeply affected by mountain grandeur, he became profoundly attached to the Highlands and Islands, painting in these regions throughout his long working life. Particularly, fond of Skye to which he returned repeatedly and faithfully recorded in all its moods.
